Serbo-Croatian or Serbo-Croat, is a South Slavic language and the primary language of Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro. All four standards are based on the same dialect, which had served as the official language of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, and later of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, from 1918 to 1991.
